eBay Top-rated Seller account status

Qualifying for eBay Top-rated Seller account status means your listings enjoy improved visibility in Best Match search results.

Once you're an eBay Top-rated Seller at an account level, you can choose to provide eBay Premium Service at a listing level to receive maximum visibility in Best Match search results. Find out more about the eBay Premium Service listing requirements.

Late delivery rate

The late delivery rate is the percentage of your transactions that weren't shipped on time. 

We'll track how often your items were either dispatched within the stated time or delivered after the estimated delivery date.

If the item receives a courier scan within your handling time, it will count as being dispatched on time. We won't check whether the courier delivered the shipment after the estimated delivery date. 

If the item doesn't receive a courier scan within your handling time and the item was late according to the tracking details, it will count as a late delivery.

If the item doesn't receive a courier scan within your handling time and there's no tracking info available, we'll check with the buyer. If the buyer says the courier delivered the shipment late, it will count as a late delivery.

Listing with the eBay Premium Service as an eBay Top-rated Seller

Once you're an eBay Top-rated Seller at an account level, you can choose to provide eBay Premium Service at an individual listing level. This means you offer a high standard of fulfilment and delivery options. You can choose to offer eBay Premium Service for some or all of your listings. These listings enjoy maximum visibility in Best Match search results.

The listings where you've chosen to offer eBay Premium Service will also display the eBay Premium Service badge to let buyers know that you offer high levels of customer service.

In order to qualify for the eBay Premium Service, you must offer the following on each listing:

• A minimum returns period of 30 calendar days. Make sure you correctly specify your returns policy.

• 1-day or same-day dispatch.

• An express delivery option – offering delivery within 1 day.

• A free delivery option.

Visit your seller standards dashboard to check your current and projected seller performance level.

Exceptions to eBay Premium Service requirements

• Listings with a freight postage service must accept returns and aren't required to offer same or 1 business day dispatch to qualify for eBay Premium Service benefits.

• Listings in the following categories must offer same- or 1-business-day handling, but don't have to accept returns:

  • Bullion/Bars > Silver Bullion

  • Bullion/Bars > Gold Bullion

  • Bullion/Bars > Palladium Bullion

  • Bullion/Bars > Platinum Bullion

  • Business, Office & Industrial

  • Event Tickets

• The following categories are excluded from the minimum 30-day returns requirement:

  • Pet Supplies > Birds > Food/Seed

  • Pet Supplies > Cat Supplies > Cat Food

  • Pet Supplies > Dog Supplies > Dog Food

  • Pet Supplies > Fish & Aquariums > Coral & Live Rock

  • Pet Supplies > Fish & Aquariums > Food

  • Pet Supplies > Fish & Aquariums > Live Fish

  • Pet Supplies > Fish & Aquariums > Live Invertebrates

  • Pet Supplies > Fish & Aquariums > Live Plants

  • Pet Supplies > Small Animal Supplies > Food

  • Sporting Goods > Fishing > Baits, Lures & Flies > Live Bait

Note: For a listing to receive the eBay Premium Service badge, both same or 1 business day dispatch and a 30-day (or longer) returns policy with a money back option must be offered.

Qualifying for eBay Top-rated Seller status on other eBay sites

If you sell on other eBay sites, you can become an eBay Top-rated Seller based on your transactions with buyers in those countries. If you qualify for the US, German, or global programme(s), you'll receive promotion in search and the eBay Top-rated Seller badge on those sites.

• eBay.com.au: Your transactions with Australian buyers need to meet the Australian performance requirements

• eBay.de/eBay.at: Your transactions with German and Austrian buyers need to meet the German performance requirements.

• All other eBay sites: Your transactions with buyers in all countries need to meet the global performance requirements.
